The victory earned Baker a spot in the events semi-finals.
The performance was of the lackluster variety for the usually brutal Baker, who was not as damaging as the Brazilian but was the busier worker overall.
Baker was also able to end the fight landing shots from the crucifix position as time ran out in the third.
Baker recognized his below average performance in his post-fight comments as he made reference to what apparently was a tough drop in weight.
"Sorry everybody, I'm still learning this weight cut. I promise to get better."
