The Politics Of Weed vs. Juice

Two of the bigger stories in the headlines the past few days was 'King Mo' Lawal getting cut by 'Strikeforce', i.e. Dana White,  and the public support that the same man showed for Nick Diaz.

The difference in the reaction to both lies in the fact that Diaz smoked up and Lawal shot up.

Here is Whites first politically correct statement on the topic of Nick Diaz.

“My stance on the whole thing is it’s not allowed. You’re not allowed to do it. Whatever the commission says you’re not allowed to do, you’re not allowed to do. It doesn’t matter what I think.

“I don’t smoke weed. It’s not my thing. It’s illegal; you can’t do it. I can’t present an argument for why (Nick Diaz) should be cool to have marijuana in his system.”

What exactly does this mean?

It means that White likely respects Diaz more as a fighter for using the green than Lawal for illegally gaining a true advantage via size and strength over his opponents.

Weed didn't help Diaz throw that sick "gogo-plata" that finished his fight against the legendary "Fireball Kid" back in '07 at Pride 33.

The "juice" has likely helped the standout wrestler in Lawal steamroll and pound the competition for years now, even though he just now got caught.

It's clear that using roids to gain an advantage is looked down on way more than recreational smoking by the masses.

Even those that don't partake.

Here are the comments White also made regarding Diaz as a fighter.

“I think if he retired it would be the most insane thing I’ve ever seen in my life. The kid is right now at the pinnacle of his career as far as his talent goes, as far as being a well rounded fighter.”

In the case of King Mo, White chose not to comment.

Coincidence?

I don't think so.
