Keith Jardine Gets KO'd

UFC veteran Keith Jardine (17-10-2) suffered his first loss in his last four fights this last weekend while Luke Rockhold retained the strap.

"The Mean Of Dean" was facing the surging Luke Rockhold (9-1) as the main-event of the 'Strikeforce' card Saturday night.

The bout was Rockhold's first middleweight title defense and Jardine's second under the Strikeforce banner.

Coming into the fight Rockhold knew a win over the former UFC fighter would still mean something for his young MMA career.

“Fighting a guy like Keith Jardine, he’s a proven opponent. He’s tough and he came to fight,” said Rockhold after the fight.

After the big win, Rockhold is looking to ramp up the level of competition he takes on inside the cage.

“I believe I’m one of the top guys. Those are the guys I want," he added.

Watch for Rockhold to continue his winning ways in 2012.
