3 Memorable Brock Lesnar Moments

Love him or hate him, Brock Lesnar did bring a certain amount of energy and entertainment to MMA prior to his retirement.

Everybody that follows the sport, and many that don't, wanted to see if a freak of nature coming out of the WWE could actually be successful in real combat situations.

The lines were usually drawn between the MMA die-hards that knew Lesnar would have a hard time in the sport and those that actually still think 'wrassling' is real, meaning Lesnar would smash anybody in Mixed Martial Arts.

Here's a look back at 3 of the more popular Brock Lesnar moments on this 'TT'.

We'll miss you Brock...

1.) Lesnar's MMA Debut - Most casual MMA fans probably think Lesnar faced Frank Mir in his MMA debut but it was actually Min-Soo Kim he faced back in June of 2007 as part of the infamous 'Dynamite! USA' card. The night also included the much anticipated Royce Gracie vs. Kazushi Sakuraba fight. The shady event included too many problems to list, but some were oversold tickets, dirty drug tests, and constant changes to the card. Lesnar ended up winning the fight in the first round due to submission from punches. Little did we know at the time, but Lesnar would be making his octagon debut the following year at UFC 81.

2.) UFC Debut Against Frank Mir - All eyes in the world of Mixed Martial Arts world were pinned to their television's on this night. Love him or hate him, Brock Lesnar was finally entering the octagon after months and months of chatter, rumors, and speculation. Could he actually win in his first UFC outing? It looked like Lesnar was on his way to an easy win over the former champion in Mir. Right up until the time he got caught in a sick heel-hook by the BJJ black-belt. I fondly remember taunting all the WWE fans in the room at the time as I enjoyed the ultimate "I told you so moment."

3.) Randy Couture vs. Lesnar For Belt  - Could "The Natural" continue to elude father time yet again? Especially up against a man of Lesnars size and athletic ability? Everybody had to tune into this one. Although Couture made it to the second round, the end result was the same. After holding his own, Couture got clipped and sent to the mat where the bigger, stronger Lesnar was able to capitalize with unrelenting hammer fists to end the fight at at 3:07 of the second round, becoming the UFC heavyweight champion of the world. Lesnar went on to face Mir in his first defense of the strap, crushing the former champion at UFC 100.
