The basis for the series would reportedly by a weekly, 36-show, tournament style format similar to what fans have been exposed to with the popular 'Bellator' promotion.
"Right now, all that I can say is that we're talking to a lot of people. Spike is looking to expand its horizons and we're talking to a lot of different sports organizations," said Spike represenative Mike Schwarz.
Part of the momentum behind these talks has to be tied to the success of Showtime's 'Super Six' tournament that saw Andre Ward beat Carl Froch in the final.
For the sake of the sport and the fans, lets hope this ends up coming to fruition.
