The Top 5 'Must Wins' Of UFC 146

I can't remember the last time a UFC card of any type held the fate of so many fighters in it's hands like tonight's UFC 146 event.

Sure, every trip to the octagon is huge and needs to end up in a win to extend ones UFC tenure, but tonight it's even more the case for a handful of fighters.

1.) Dan Hardy - 'The Outlaw' is likely the fighter with the most pressure on him. Many thought he was going to get his walking papers after suffering his 4th loss in a row at the hands of the now retired Chris Lytle. It doesn't get much easier Hardy tonight as he takes on Colorado's own elite striker in Duane 'Bang' Ludwig. Watch for Ludwig to make Hardy pay on the ground at some point during the fight getting the win.

2.) Roy Nelson - Although he has shown a warriors heart in addition to being tough as nails even in the event of a loss, Nelson's back is still against the proverbial wall. Although he has huge wins over the likes of Mirko Cro Cop, Brendan Schaub, and Stefan Struve, he will also be looking to avoid his fourth loss in five fights. Nelson will be taking on Dave Herman who enters the octagon attempting to get his 4th win in 5 trips to the cage. With the styles of these two it should be nothing short of a slug fest that will see Nelson get the win via TKO to save his job.

3.) Jason Miller - Although Miller's return to the UFC was highly anticipated, his lackluster loss versus fan non-favorite Michael Bisping was not well received. Even Miller voiced the fact that he did not perform at all well. Tonight he will be taking on the peruvian neck-tie expert in C.B Dollaway. C.B. comes into the fight on the heels of two losses of his own as he tries to rebound in what would be a huge win. The fight should be a good one as both look to keep their UFC careers off life support. Miller by judges split decision after a battle for the ages.

4.) Duane Ludwig - Colorado's Duane Ludwig has overcome much adversity over the past 2-3 years as he has tried to get his UFC career back on track. Although his opponent in Dan Hardy is facing more of a 'do or die' scenario, Ludwig is teetering on the edge of also possibly losing his UFC job security. White would probably give the unofficial record holder of the fastest UFC KO in history another shot, it's probably best not to have to test those waters. Ludwig by unanimous judges decision after a toe-to-toe war in every sense of the word.

5.) C.B. Dollaway - After losing in the finals of 'TUF Season' seven, Dollaway has gone on to post a somewhat respectable record in the UFC at 5-4, but he hasn't beat anyone of great note. As mentioned above, Dollaway is likely best known for his signature peruvian next-tie submission he pulled on Jesse Taylor back in 2008. I see Dollaway's opponent in Jason Miller rising to the occasion after his loss to Bisping, putting a show on for the fans and ultimately getting the hard fought win. Miller by judges split decision.
