Top 3 Reasons Margarito Wins

When Antonio Margarito steps between the ropes Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, he won't only be fighting Miguel Cotto.

The man now better known for 'plaster wraps' than his iron chin will be fighting to silence his critics and clear his name.

Here are the top 3 reasons why Margarito wins this much anticipated fight:

1.) More To Prove   -  The main storyline in this fight is Margarito's hand wraps that were found with plaster agents in them prior to the Mosley bout. That and the fact that Cotto and his camp are now convinced this was also the case the first time Cotto faced Margarito. Because of this, Margarito desperately wants to put another beating on Cotto to prove it had nothing to do with anything but him. Margarito will be focused on nothing but putting away Cotto on this night.

2.) He Won't Quit  -  As seen in the brutal beating versus Pacquiao, there is no quit in Antonio Margarito. Even to a fault. The "no quit" almost caused enough damage on his right eye to have to retire. Even Cotto admitted a win is not worth his health to him or his family. Either way, you have to respect a fighter in any combat sport that is willing to lay his health on the line to secure a win. If it comes down to a battle of will, watch for Margarito to come out on top.

3.) Too Much Power  -  Plaster or no plaster, there will still be too much power in the Tijuana natives hands for Cotto to deal with over many rounds. Watch for Cotto to begin showing the effects of Margarito's punches towards the 6th and 7th rounds. Considering the circumstances, if Margarito smells blood he will no doubt try to put away Cotto to put a stamp on the win. If Cotto squeaks by and wins, it will be by a split judges decision. Could this be fight of the year?
