The announcement came via a tweet by Lombard himself.
“I am in the UFC it is official.”
The UFC got close to signing the coveted Lombard in 2007, but passport issues killed his UFC debut set for UFC 78.
Since, he has fought primarily under the 'Bellator' banner and regional promotions in Australia.
With 'Bellator', he won the season one tournament, made one title defense, and won four non-title fights after winning the strap
