La Junta, CO - Monty Thompson, Ryan Axtell and the 'Cage Kings' Colorado MMA promotion will host 'Cage Kings 2' March 8th in La Junta, CO.
The card consists of quality match ups from some of the best MMA talent in the area including heavyweight Jeremy Loveland (0-2 ammy).
'TheFightWire.com' had a chance to talk to Loveland leading up to the promotions second event and what first drew him to MMA.
"What got me into it the most was my older brother Carlos Johnson. He became a fighter six or seven years ago. I went to one of his fights and was able to go down to the cage with him and work his corner.
"Ever since then, when I saw someone in the cage I told myself I wanted to do it."
The final piece to the puzzle and start to his MMA career was finding a solid training home and coach at 'Valley Heights MMA' and MMA veteran Ryan Axtell.
"I knew Ryan had a team starting up so I called him and asked if I could start training under 'Valley Heights MMA', my first team I ever went to. He's the one that believed in me and gave me the opportunity.
"He trained me and here we are.
Across the cage, Loveland will facing a familiar foe in Jake Wynne after coming up short in their first meeting.
"He's a local boy from La Junta (Wynne) I trained with Jake for a year before I moved to Springfield. He's an awesome fighter that is good both on the ground and standing up.
"Our last fight he came out on top. I made a mistake and he capitalized and won the fight. This time its going to be very, very different.
"My only game plan is to put a show on for the fans and leave everything inside the cage."
"It's a great feeling to get in the cage and show people what we've learned. Most people think this is a big game but we're in it because we love to train and put in hard work.
"MMA's not a sport, it's a lifestyle."
When asked what will be going through his head on the long walk to the cage as he looks to avenge the loss, he kept it simple.
"It's me and another warrior and we're about to go to war. Let the best man walk out with his hand raised."
Jeremy wanted to thank Ryan Axtell and 'Valley Heights MMA', Monty Thompson (sponsor, promoter),James Gallegos (boxing coach), David Vasquez (training partner), 'The Longhorn Steakhouse' (sponsor) and above all his Mother who he dedicates this fight to.
