Wyoming ladies stepping out; win, lose, or draw!
April 7, 2012, two Wyoming female fighters took their game out of state in search of belts.
18 year old Ali Kistler of Gillette competed in Caldwell, ID in a Modified Muay Thai battle against Nampa, Idaho's Karli Black. This was an Atomweight title fight at 110lbs, with both ladies coming in under weight.
It was an active bout, with all three rounds filled with knees from the clinch, and wicked punching and kicking combinations. In the end, Karli took the win by decision. Ali Kistler, with two MMA fights experience, may be seen in the inaugural Women's Fighting Championship in Casper, WY on May 12, 2012.
Also on April 7, I had the wonderful opportunity to compete against Heather Sachleben of Team Wildman (Parker, CO) in the history-making Kickdown 100 at the Red Lion in Denver.
Also a very active bout, with strong hand combinations from Heather, met with kicks from me, Heather's procurement of the Flyweight title came by way of decision.
This was a fun, exciting fight of which I am proud to have been a part. Both Heather and I are slated to return to the cage in the Women's Fighting Championship, as well. I will be fighting for the first time at 115lbs, a weight class I intend to embrace. Neither of our opponents have been established, just yet.
The WFC May 12 card will soon be finalized, showcasing fighters such as Ali, Heather, Haelle Smith, Katie Moerke, Staci Vega, Cassie Robb, and professional fighter Diana Rael.
