Ortiz vs. Berto II Set For June

In what will be a rematch of the 2011 Ring magazine 'Fight Of Year' , Victor Ortiz (29-3-2, 22 KOs) vs. Andre Berto (28-1, 22 KOs) is set to go down for a second time on June 30th.

This will likely be one of the top fights of 2012 based solely on the fact that it was voted the fan favorite of 2011.

If the first showdown is any indication of what the rematch holds, it should be nothing short of fireworks.

In their initial meeting, fans were on their feet and texting anybody they could reach about what they were witnessing by the time the bout reached the 6th round.

The round that incidentally saw both fighters hit the canvas.

At the end of 2011, the brawl ended up being the fans choice for 'Fight Of The Year'.

In spite of the recent chatter regarding Ortiz first taking a fight with  #2 ranked Robert Guerrero, Ortiz's manager Rolando Arrellano was quick to squash any speculation.

"Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto  rematch of The 2001 Fight of the Year has been rescheduled for June 30 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. I would like to dismiss any rumors that Victor may fight Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero first. Victor's primary obligation is to fight Andre Berto.

"The fight was to have taken place this Saturday, Feb. 11, but had to be postponed because Berto suffered a training injury last week. Guerrero is a fine young man and a very good fighter and we would be pleased to fight him in what could be an entertaining match."
