Colorado's Justin Salas got a huge win under the bright lights of the worlds biggest MMA promotion on Wednesday night.
After putting in much work across the mid-west from the 'Victory Fighting Championship' to the famed 'Ring Of Fire', Salas definitely earned his shot in the UFC.
The victory in the form of a unanimous decision and Salas's 6th in a row, came at the expense of Anton Kuivanen.
The fight was entertaining enough as the action went back and forth for most of the 3 rounds. Kuivanen worked some nice kicks early but succumbed to a few elite level take downs as the fight progressed.
Kuivanen then proceeded to get outworked to the finish line by the Wyoming native.
"It wasn't an easy fight for a debut, but I got the job done. He was a tough, physical guy who was tough to take down, but I controlled the fight and was confident I'd get the win. But I've got room to improve."
Watch for big things in 2012 as Salas continues to surge and congrats from 'Uppercuts Inc.' on the successful UFC debut.
