Chavez Jr. Keeps Rollin' On HBO

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-0-1, 32 knockouts) is still on a collision course with Sergio Martinez after dispatching the game Andy Lee (28-2, 20 KOs) in the 7th round on Saturday night.

Lee was never really in the fight as Chavez Jr. easily dominated most of the rounds, leading to the finish in number seven.

If anyone needed further evidence of how good a trainer Freddie Roach is, seeing the improvements Chavez Jr. has recently made is plenty.

“I wanted to see if he had any power (in the early rounds). He
didn’t have anything, that’s when I came on.

"In the first round maybe I was a little cold, but I put my face out for him to hit me but he never hurt me.”

Lee knew he wasn't the best fighter on this night.

“My punches had no effect on him. I couldn’t hold him off. A lot of punches I threw in there could have hurt a lot of people but he just walked through them.”

Stay tuned for any word on Jr.'s next opponent, hopefully Sergio Martinez.
