Leading up to his big fight, UppercutsNews.com had a chance to catch up with Clark to talk about the matchup.
Although he's willing to fight anyone, Clark wasn't expecting his current opponent in Maldonado to be the one he would face across the cage.
"I was a little surprised when he called me out to fight him.
"Ive actually trained over at Ground Zero with John Maldonado before. I know he's a ground coach and he has some good wrestling skills.
"I know for a fact he's going to try to take me to the ground but I'm going to give him hell in the process and see what happens.
In spite of the ground prowess of Maldonado, Clark sees a hole in his MMA game.
"I know he's not going to be able to handle my distance on my reach. He's a lot shorter than I am so I'm going to use that to my advantage.
Win or lose, it's nothing personal at the end of the night.
"I have a lot of respect for him. He's a friend of mine.
"We'll give it hell for nine minutes and then get a drink afterwords."
'Fox' wanted to thank his sponsors Sawaya Law Firm, ColoradoAutoFinders.com, Aris Tavern, Healthmark Chiropractic, Spartan Labs, Above All Cleaning And Restoration, Dominion Inc., and Stapleton BJJ.
