UFC 148 Silva vs. Sonnen II Betting Odds

After what seems like an eternity, Silva vs. Sonnen II is hours from going down.

Before we get to the card, here's a few MMA betting basics to give you the best shot at long term profits.

You do this by following 3 main rules. 1.) Never wager more than 3-5% of your totoal bank roll  2.) Don't bet on the favorite every time 3.) Don't feel you have to bet on every card.

We'll get more into those guidelines some time in the future.

In the main-event of the historic UFC 148, Anderson Silva comes in as the obvious favorite at a (-)260 with Chael Sonnen the slight underdog at a (+)210. These numbers are referred to as the 'money-line'.

The favorite is noted by the (-) and the underdog the (+). What this means is that for every $1 you might risk on Sonnen, your return would be $2.10. Not bad. On the flip-side, you would have to lay $2.60 on 'The Spider' to win $1. Not the best return and why you never bet on the favorites every time.

The best way to bet on favorites is by using the 'parlay', or the stringing together of two or more heavy favorites to increase the return. On this card, I like the use of  the parlay with a Silva (-)260 and Chad Mendes (-)700 wager.

Found below are some of the other odds from the card:

-Tito Ortiz (+)225 vs. Forrest Griffin (-)295
-Michael Bisping (-)315 vs. Tim Boetsch (+)245
-Chad Mendes (-)700 vs. Cody Mckenzie (+)500
-Demian Maia (+)125 vs. Dong Hyun Kim (-)155
