Longmont - Colorado's Raul 'El Chino' Carrillo (10-1, 6 KOs) scored a big win over New Mexico's top prospect Josh 'Pitbull' Torres (7-2-1, 4 KOs) Saturday night.
The highly anticipated fight was the main-event for Raul Utajara's Ghost Town Promotions 'Warriors Conquest' event held at the 'Boulder County Events Center'.
Carrillo was coming off of a recent tough fought decision loss to Rob Frankel (30-12-1, 6 KOs) as he stepped between the ropes in front of a packed home town crowd.
In spite of much brash rhetoric from Torres and his camp leading up to the bout, Carrillo spent much of the six rounds backing Torres down and landing crisp combinations
Torres landed some shots of his own, but not enough to add up or do any real damage.
As a result of emotions riding high and the magnitude of local bragging rights, the domination of Torres by Carrillo led to some poor sportsmanship by some from the Torres camp.
The win firmly positions Carrillo as the Southwest's top prospect in the on-going Colorado vs. New Mexico rivalry.
