The bout was the main-event for the 'Warehouse Rumble 2' card in New Mexico.
Torres was attempting to rebound from a tough fought loss dealt to him by Colorado's Raul 'El Chino' Carrillo back on June 30th.
Gomez was also in need of a win after getting a loss hung on him by El Paso's Abie Han.
"He came to fight, he didn't back up," stated Josh "Pitbull" Torres.
Gomez pointed to the short notice as the difference on this night.
"It was a close fight and I'm not disappointed with the outcome. But I only had three weeks to prepare for this. I came down from 170 and my fight was against weight, instead of Josh Torres.
"I'd love a rematch."
