5 MMA Fights To Be Thankful For

As Mixed Martial Arts fans gather around the table today with family and friends, there's no better time to take a look at the top upcoming fights to be thankful for.

The list is in no particular order and based on paper they should all deliver many great "fight moments."

Drum roll please:

1.) Michael Bisping vs. Jason Miller / TUF 14 Finale - After facing off against each other as coaches on the 14th season of 'The Ultimate Fighter', these two clashing personalities will finally settle it in the cage. Bisping will be vying for his 4th straight win while 'Mayhem' will be looking for his 3rd in a row. Miller is capable of really frustrating and pushing Bisping to his limits so Bisping will have to bring his "A" game. Unless Bisping opts to play it safe and try to out point Miller on his feet it could go either way. Bisping by split judges decision.

2.) Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida / UFC 140 - This is arguably the most anticipated fight on the list. That's because it features the red hot "Bones" Jones who is quickly becoming a household name. Jones will be facing Lyoto Machida (17-2) who is fresh off of his Segal inspired front kick KO of Randy Couture at UFC 129. These have to be two of the most unorthodox strikers in all of MMA so it should be a fight to remember. Until I see some type of weakness in Jones I am going to have to go with him for the win by TKO.

3.) Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz / UFC 141 - Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (17-3) has made a seamless transition to the UFC from the WEC going undefeated at 4-0, not to mention the three 'Of The Night' honors. It has been a bit more rocky for Nate Diaz who will be trying string together two wins in a row for the first time since August of 2010. As much as I like the Diaz brothers, I see Cerrone pulling this one off using his superior standup skills to get the unanimous judges decision. I'll call my shot and say this with be 'Fight Of The Night'.

4.) Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem /UFC 141 - This fight will be the first for Overeem since finally making the trip over to the UFC. Brock Lesnar (5-2) will be trying to rebound after going under the knife for his on going battle with diverticulitis. The former Pride champion is going to be a big test for Lesnar after dropping his last fight to the now former champion in Cain Velasquez. Alistair Overeem (36-11) brings much experience to the UFC having also earned titles in 'Dream' and 'Strikeforce'. Make mine Overeem by TKO in the second round.

5.) GSP vs. Nick Diaz / UFC 143 - After earning his title shot against GSP (22-2) for the second time, Nick Diaz (26-7) will be looking to show the world why he truly believes he is the better fighter. At the time of this writing Diaz was coming off a huge win over BJ Penn. Diaz was dominate in the fight and might be getting GSP at just the right time as he looks to finally hold the UFC strap. To some this might be crazy but I'm going out on a limb with Diaz to win by any means necessary. If GSP wins it will be by the cards. I just can't see Diaz getting finished.

And there it is.

The top 5 upcoming fights.

Watch for the full breakdowns and betting lines on these and other UFC cards in the next few months.

Happy Thanksgiving!
