Now that the dust has settled from last Saturday's 'Warriors Conquest II' put on by 'Ghost Town Promotions', we can take a look back at the fight night that set a new standard for Colorado boxing.
Here are 3 things that Rocky Mountain combat fans took away from the big event...
1.) 'Longmont Athletic Club' Is The Future - Although 'Ghost Town' will return to the 'Boulder County Fairgrounds' every now and then, the future of the Colorado combat promotion is the 'Longmont Athletic Club'. The facility made for a great fight atmosphere and you could even feel the buzz in the air from the parking lot as fans started to pour in. Hats off to John Dykmon (facility manager) and his crew in what they were able to accomplish the first time out.
2.) Raul Utajara's Rise - As the Colorado combat scene continues to grow, Utajara and his 'Ghost Town Promotions' are clearly on the rise and steady raising the bar for area promoters. This is largely due to his fan friendly way of doing business that gives the masses what they want. That and being one hell of a matchmaker, having a knack for creating great back-and-forth bouts. Watch for Utajara and his promotion to continue to make big waves in the Rocky Mountain region in 2013.
3.) Muay-Thai A Success -This was the first event hosted by 'Ghost Town Promotions' that included muay-thai kickboxing matches and by the crowds reaction, even those possibly seeing muay-thai for the first time, it definitely won't be the last. The two kickboxing bouts to start the evening really set the tone for the rest of the explosive night. This is another example of Utajara being aware of what the fans are wanting and giving it to them, adding more bang for the buck.
